You might not know it from the fairly meager output of his current project, but since the dissolution of Smart Went Crazy, Chad Clark has been a busy man. In addition to twiddling knobs for Fugazi, Clark also masters much of the current Dischord output—and he’s in the middle of a massive back-catalog remastering for the venerable label. So you’ll have to cut the man some slack for releasing only a five-song EP since 1999. You might even give him some credit for his managerial skills: Though being a member of Beauty Pill implies about as much stability as the Redskins’ defensive-coordinator position, Clark & Co. have managed to almost complete a full-length, scheduled for release later this year. See what the band’s been up to when it plays with the Sorts at 9 p.m. at the Black Cat’s Backstage, 1811 14th St. NW. $5. (202) 667-7960. (David Dunlap Jr.)
