It seems that Mayor Williams wants to push “tort reform” in D.C. (Loose Lips, 5/2). Until the medical community finds the resolve to effectively protect the public from chronically negligent doctors, I see no reason to protect such doctors from verdicts and compensation awards to the victims that our D.C. juries believe are just. The mayor should drop this issue and focus on issues of real concern to D.C. residents.
