At first glance, I thought “Off Target” (5/9) was a joke, but as I continued to read about the infamous Jayson Blair, I found nothing in the article to laugh about. It seems as if his story is the talk in the news world, and obviously an embarrassment to the newspapers that trusted him. If anything, his uncovered plagiarism should be fair warning to anyone about the possible repercussions of bad journalism.

There is no room for glorified news that sounds too good to be true. The public always deserves to hear and read the truth. Unfortunately, in the case of Blair, his downfall was a story that was not too good to be true.
