One particular member of this list of has-been indie rockers could have been named “Sassiest Burnout.” That one could also be considered to have some of the worst decision-making skills in the biz (e.g. nuzzling up to Courtney Love, getting a haircut, hosting an MTV alterna-show, and nuzzling up to Simon & Garfunkel’s back catalog). And that very same one had the bad luck of becoming a career druggie and not getting any glamorous press out of it. (Scott Weiland got a Rolling Stone cover for his habit, fer crissakes.) But somehow, that one also had the charm to release a really—can you believe it?—catchy solo album.
