Thanks for “Wisconsin Badgers” (7/4). Author Josh Levin is an excellent writer who got a lot of it right.

He’s right—in Tenleytown we knock out the places we don’t want, and we keep or knock in the places we do. Lately, we’ve knocked in a lot of new restaurants, which are doing well. We also knocked in Tenley Hill, a condo that’s a real addition to the neighborhood. We’ll knock out the Martens monstrosity and knock in a building that brings us a sensible level of density and beautiful or at least attractive architecture.

We love our neighborhood, and we protect it from greedy developers whose only stake in our community is to take the money and run. We welcome sensible development, not to be confused with venal “smart growth.”

Our message to all: Don’t mess with Tenley!
