I’m not sure if the “bubbleglam dance rock” genre even exists, but if it does, the Dane-amic duo of Junior Senior is one of its prime propagators. Junior is straight and Senior is gay, and the two will tell you all about it on “Chicks and D**ks,” an illustrative tune off their debut disc, D-D-Don’t Don’t Stop the Beat. It strikes me as kind of odd that hetero Junior is the lithe, hot little moppet, while homo Senior is the heavier, slightly less hot one with the crystal-meth ‘stache and the raver visor. But I am a simple man. On what may be the catchiest party platter you will hear all year, J and S steal from all the greats: Tommy James & the Shondells, George Michael, the Beach Boys. There’s even the guitar line from BTO’s “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” at the beginning of “Shake Your Coconuts.” However, you know it’s not Randy Bachman when they start singing “Shake your coconuts/’Til the milk comes out.” I don’t know whether to page Dr. Freud or call Jimmy Buffett. Junior Senior plays with Electric Six and Soft Complex at 8:30 p.m. on the Black Cat’s Mainstage, 1811 14th St. NW. $10. (202) 667-7960. (David Dunlap Jr.)
