The Jan. 9 Show & Tell column includes a quotation from Andrew Frank indicating that the Biograph had patronage or financial problems prior to its closing. At the time of the closure, Biograph owners Alan Rubin and Leonard Poryles made it very clear that the problem was that the landlord wanted the building for a more profitable CVS outlet, not that the theater was losing money.
