There are few fashion faux pas that Queer Eye’s Carson Kressley will let a straight man get away with. Among his no-nos: the novelty boxer, the clog, the pleated pant, the short-sleeved dress shirt, the pastel suit, the bolo tie, the mitten (the mitten?)…and the list goes on. But when it comes to his sense of style, Kressley seems a little hesitant to follow his own advice. Like in that picture from the latest People magazine, where he’s caught wearing clashing plaid and prints. (Yeah, the one in the “Worst Dressed” section.) Need I point you to your book, Carson, Off The Cuff: The Essential Style Guide for Men and the Women Who Love Them, where, on Page 10, you write, “Keep it simple, sassy”? Ask Kressley if the plaidtastrophe was the result of a hard week of saving heteros from clothing disaster when he appears at 2 p.m. at Olsson’s Book & Records, 2111 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Free.
