TUESDAY
I’ve got two bottles set aside for Nov. 2. The first is a $400 Krug Brut Rosé Champagne, which—upon hearing the official confirmation that Sen. John Kerry will be the new President of the United States—I will gleefully pop open and douse my houseguests with as if we were all members of a World Series–winning Red Sox. The other is a $5 flask of Jim Beam, just in case we get four more years. Either way, something tells me that it’s going to be a long night, and that I’ll have plenty of time to stop by the Election Night Remix, featuring DJ Spooky (That Subliminal Kid) and a real-time multimedia collage installation by the Noskilz Sound and Video Syndicate that incorporates live election results. Because after all, nothing washes away the bitter taste of recount announcements, reports of voting fraud, and other election-time shenanigans quite like a pint of Red Room Ale. Dance your way down Spin Alley when the show starts at 8:30 p.m. on the Black Cat’s Mainstage, 1811 14th St. NW. $12. (202) 667-7960. (Matthew Borlik)
