Re the Washington Post’s loss of readers (Dept. of Media, “Hocus Focus,” 10/1):
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that circulation “fell off the trucks” precisely as the Post was ratcheting up support for President George W. Bush’s war.
I live in a Capitol Hill apartment building with 15 units, four Post subscribers. Three of them are among the building’s four oldest tenants; two are retired.
Speaking of the Post: I believe that Harold Brazil is the first incumbent holding citywide office to seek re-election with the Post’s endorsement and be defeated.
