Incident No. 126
Assault With A Deadly Weapon
Hines Junior High School
Sept. 16, 12:30 p.m.
A male student was in room #408 when another male student stabbed him in the face several times with a pencil. The victim sustained a puncture wound in the chin, face and nose. His mother responded and transported him to his physician. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded and placed the other student under arrest. MPD completed a report. Administrative action pending.
Incident No. 161
Assault—Sexual
Birney Elementary School
September 21, 10:45 a.m.
A male student was in the third floor restroom when male students 1-4 began feeling and squeezing his buttocks. Student 1 stated that he did not touch the victim. He also stated that Student 4 yelled, “Let’s rape him!” Student 3 stated that he and Student 4 pulled the victim into the restroom. Student 3 stated that he did not hear Student 4 yell, “Let’s rape him!” Student 1 stated that he did not touch the victim on 9/21/04, but did touch the victim’s buttocks on 9/20/04. The victim notified Security of the incident. The school-assigned MPD officer completed a report. All parents were notified….Administrative action is pending at this time.
Incident No. 167
Suspected Drug Use or Intoxication
Spingarn Senior High School
Sept. 21, 11:30 a.m.
A female security officer reported that while walking on the 3rd floor, she smelt the aroma that appeared to be marijuana in the air. The security officer walked into stairwell #7 and noticed two male students smoking. The officer observed smoke coming from a third male student’s nose and mouth. The suspects spotted the security officer and ran off. The security officer informed the school-assigned MPD officer. The MPD officer stated [he] let the subjects go, and that he didn’t want to ruin their future. The Principal and Assistant Principal were informed. Parents to be notified. Administrative action pending.
