I really enjoyed the article “Mire Beware” (1/28) by Franklin Schneider. I thought it really got to the greater travesty: the degradation of open space and the ultimate resources that support mankind. I also appreciated the insightful portrayal of how U.S. policies, like the National Environmental Policy Act, can be manipulated to sustain individual greed despite their initial intentions of serving the greater good. It is not a wonder that the United States is overly litigious and prey to the fear instilled by governing alarmists.
