Jim Florentine’s comedy will make you cringe—not because the material is awful, but because you will feel like an awful person for laughing. And if you are an awful person—say, a telemarketer—you might even have the misfortune to be part of the act: Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 4, the latest installment in Florentine’s popular series of releases, features 18 tracks of the comedian destroying the morale of the world’s most annoying meal interrupters. A later variation on one of these earlier characters (named simply “Retard”) can be seen on Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers: Florentine provides the voice of Special Ed, whose “Yaaayyy!!!” mercifully just escaped being last year’s most ubiquitous Comedy Central–related catchphrase. Recently, Florentine and a few pals—among them Don Jamieson, KC Armstrong, and Opie & Anthony mainstay Jim Norton—released Meet the Creeps, a DVD containing such hidden-camera pranks as visiting a lingerie store in search of the used section. Florentine performs at 8 and 10 p.m. (see City List for other dates) at the LafterHours Comedy Club, 14114 Lee Highway, Centreville. $12. For reservations call (703) 266-8888. (Chris Hagan)
