Theater, music, art, movies, a cup of joe—come on, what more could the Warehouse Theater microplex provide to support your culture habit? And it asks so little of you. Now in need of a new lighting system, the Warehouse is holding a fundraiser with a twist: Over 100 local artists, including F. Lennox Campello, folks from Decatur Blue, Judy Jashinsky, Tim Tate, and Trish Tillman, have donated pieces to Light Up the Warehouse. One $150 sponsor ticket gets you into the art lotto: You’ll take home a piece of art valued at between $200 and $1,000, plus enjoy eats and camaraderie. (If your private gallery is already busting, you can enjoy just eats and camaraderie for $100.) Caricaturist Andy Scott will even sketch your mug for the wall of “party pics.” I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like—a bargain! Let there be light at 7 p.m. at the Warehouse Theater, 1021 7th St. NW. $100–$150. Call (202) 783-3933 for tickets and more information. (Janet Hopf)
