Feb. 2, 2005, 3:40 p.m.
A security guard discovered 3 knives in front of the handicap ramp and 1 knife adjacent to the fence in front of the school. The weapons will be turned over to the Cluster Supervisor. No suspects, leads, or witnesses at this time.

925 Rhode Island Ave. NW
Feb. 23, 2005, 1:20 p.m.
A male maintenance employee was walking into the cafeteria when he bumped a female student. It is unknown at this time whether the maintenance employee purposely bumped the student. The maintenance employee then pushed the student to the floor, which caused her head to strike the floor. The student jumped up off of the floor and smacked the maintenance employee. The maintenance employee wrapped his arm around the student’s neck and began punching her in the face. The employee and the student began fighting. Another student intervened and attempted to restrain the employee when he punched her in the face. Security and school employees responded to the scene. The first student complained of facial and neck pain. The second student complained of facial pain. The employee sustained scratches to the face. Medical attention not required. The school-assigned MPD officer was notified. The MPD officer did not complete a report. A Watkins Investigator will be assigned to the case. Administrative action is pending.
Incident No. 1030
Threat
Simon Elementary School
401 Mississippi Ave. SE
Jan. 13, 2005, 9:30 a.m.
Two male students were involved in a verbal altercation. The first said to the second, “I’ll kill your mom.” The second replied, “I will shoot you.” A fight erupted. A substitute teacher broke up the fight. There were no injuries to report. Parents were notified and responded for a conference today. MPD was notified and responded. No report taken. The MPD officer’s badge number was not obtained. The students were both suspended for three days each.
