On Sunday night, a typed message was spotted in the cup holder of Flexcar No. 3808, a white Honda Civic Hybrid parked at 12th Street and Gessford Court SE: “It is very unpleasant to use this SHARED vehicle after you have been in here with your pet. You might not notice it, but the rest of us do: Your dog smells awful!” Flexcar D.C. General Manager Bill Scott says he occasionally “get[s] a glimpse of a certain amount of communication between Flexcar members,” including such notes as, “whoever parked this car backward, stop doing it.” Frustrations over shared wheels have been mounting over at Zipcar as well. Zipcar Regional Vice President Gabe Klein reports receiving complaints from customers who’ve found everything from 8,000 hiphop CDs to a pair of “gray men’s underwear.” A woman discovered the skivvies when she went to put food in the trunk, and e-mailed Zipcar: “‘[They were] lovely with my groceries.” #8212;Constantine Caloudas
