“Sleeper Cell” (11/11), by Chris Peterson, lends support to an ideology that condoned the murder of millions of people in the name of helping the working class. President Ronald Reagan said it best when he called the Soviet Union an “evil empire.” Tyrants such as Kim Il Sung, Nicolae Ceausescu, Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and others have murdered millions in the name of the people and communism. These people support a system that gave the world Soviet concentration camps and penal colonies, the Katyn Forrest massacre of Polish officers, mass deportations of multiple ethnic groups from their homelands, artificial terror famines in China and Ukraine to force collectivization, mass murder in Cambodia, slavery in North Korea, secret police forces (Romanian, Cheka, NKVD, KGB…), and other unspeakable horrors.

I suggest that the readers of the Washington City Paper review their history and that the editors relegate the communists to the pages of history, where they belong.
