History: Napoli’s was closed April 14, 2004, for five violations, including plumbing fixtures in poor repair, evidence of rodents, and unclean food surfaces.
Health Department Says: no water; no certified food manager on duty
Business Says: On the afternoon of Jan. 30, when Napoli’s was supposed to be closed, the door was propped open, the lights were on, a cook and a cashier were in the back, and two customers had just walked out with a to-go box. They still had no water and were closed for business, owner Ijaz Khan said. The drought resulted from an unpaid water bill for $4,236.33 that Khan is disputing with his landlord. “This is a pizza store; we don’t use this much water,” Khan said. “We don’t have a laundromat here.”
