Who says your average High Life–drinking, NASCAR-watching couch-jockey isn’t qualified enough to get behind the wheel of a Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe and take to the tracks for an afternoon of tight turns and high speeds? Not the folks at Rev It Up Racing, the “World’s Largest Driving School and National Racing Competition,” which offers up a score of classes and on-track clinics covering advanced car control, grip dynamics, and racing fundamentals before giving participants the green light on the racecourse. Although Rev It Up is designed for both novice and experienced drivers, racing veterans should be aware that Chevrolet provides all of the cars and protective equipment—so leave your souped-up ’66 Mustang GT Fastback in your garage. Live your own Days of Blunder, er, Thunder when the gates open at 7 a.m. at FedExField, 1600 FedEx Way, Landover. General admission is free; performance-driving school and racing competition is $50. For reservations, call (800) 958-1748. (Matthew Borlik)
