While Young & Hungry catches up on daytime television, we’d like to take an opportunity to expand the scope of the Feed, our weekly roundup of shorter restaurant reviews. Since the Feed’s inception more than two years ago, it seems that Washington City Paper readers haven’t been straying too far from the area’s established restaurant hot spots. Scan our online Restaurant Finder, and you’ll note that only a handful of neighborhoods—Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Chinatown, and a few others—can claim that more than half of their listed restaurants have been reviewed enough to earn a spork rating.
Worse yet, readers can pass through whole swaths of the region without coming across a single spork-rated restaurant. Below is a list of some neglected areas, with a by-no-means exhaustive rundown of some of their unrated restaurants. So get to it.
