You will no doubt remember comedian Dennis Regan from his sterling performance as Malkuth the weapons-maker in the real-time strategy video game Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars. No? Perhaps you’ve seen him skulking about the set of the television show The King of Queens, for which he’s a writer. If not, chances are you’ve seen him somewhere: Since entering the stand-up circuit in 1987, Regan—who often performs alongside his brother, Brian—has toured regularly and made appearances on Comedy Central, The Late Show With David Letterman, and The Tonight Show. And, if Regan’s stand-up act is anywhere near as enthralling as his performance as Seer Augustus in the fantasy role-playing game Dungeon Lords, you won’t need a crystal ball to tell you that it’s worth skipping out on yet another night of World of Warcraft to watch him yuk it up. Regan performs at 8:30 p.m. at the D.C. Improv, 1140 Connecticut Ave. NW. $15. (202) 296-7008; see City List for a complete schedule.
