Do you really feel like dragging yourself out of bed on Sunday, spending an hour searching for parking, and then elbowing your way through the hordes—and their dogs—at the Dupont Circle FRESHFARM Market? Didn’t think so. The same nonprofit runs the far more manageable Penn Quarter FRESHFARM Market every Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m., from April through mid-December. Though smaller than the Dupont market, the Penn Quarter version features many of the same venerable vendors, including Toigo Orchards, the Mushroom Stand, and Sunnyside Organics, who set out their wares on 8th Street NW, easily accessible from the Gallery Place and Archives Metro stops. Don’t miss the excellent 2-kilo pane Pugliese from the Bread Ovens at Quail Creek Farm.
