If you want to see a mainstream flick, there aren’t too many differences between the big theaters. What really matters is the ease it takes to get from your house into a theater seat, and that’s where Regal Gallery Place excels. Its Chinatown location makes it easy to get to, whether by Metro or bus or even the Circulator. The other bonus is that patrons here seem to prefer the old-fashioned form of buying a ticket from a teller rather than from a machine. Perhaps some people still use cash? Whatever the reason, it’s often easy to sidestep the long line, walk up to a machine, buy a ticket, and be salting your popcorn while everyone else is still shuffling toward the vendor window. And that, of course, means a better seat.
