There is a decreasing number of reasons why any urban person needs to own a car, especially with the proliferation of Zipcar. While there are Zipcars scattered over much of the city, there are few spots as fertile as the lot on the northeast corner of 14th and Corcoran Streets NW. First of all, lots are always preferable to street parking because there’s less chance someone will park in your spot. Also, there’s a lot attendant in case you have any trouble. The exciting part, however, is that more than 20 cars are in this location, with many models to choose from. Aside from some standard 4-doors, you can get some moving done with a pickup truck or SUV, or you can have some fun in a Mini Cooper or BMW, or you can be responsible and scoot around in a hybrid. And the U Street/Cardozo Metro stop is only four blocks away, so there’s no excuse not to Zip.
