The Kennedy Center kicks off its 37th birthday with an exciting celebration of American innovators and artists carrying on traditions – featuring performers from all across the country and the D.C. area! Throughout the day, enjoy Grammy Award-winning folk musicians Dan Zanes and Friends… the “Godfather of Go-Go” Chuck Brown… Academy Award-nominated folk singer Lila Downs… a thrilling “Step Show” featuring the internationally acclaimed group Step Afrika! along with other teams from across the U.S… top ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro… the Kennedy Center’s own ballet company The Suzanne Farrell Ballet… California comedian and circus artist Jamie Adkins… the National Symphony Orchestra… innovative “junk musician” Donald Knaack… and much more!
