Kix, based in Baltimore, became a stalwart touring act there and in central Pennsylvania in the early 1980s. Led by Steve Whiteman, they released the self-titled major label debut, featuring the much-requested track “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,” in 1981. It followed it with 1983’s “Cool Kids” and ’85’s “Midnite Dynamite.” It was with the ubiquitous ’80s power ballad, however, that Kix would, like many other bands of the era, find its greatest success — theirs was “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” from 1988’s “Blow My Fuse.”
