Capitalizing on the runaway success of Mad Men and coinciding with the decidedly mod exhibit “Art by the Yard: Women Design Mid-Century Britain,” the Textile Museum hosts its second after-hours event, PM @ The TM, this time with the theme “Mod Madness.” Amid the backdrop of the fab fabrics of Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag, and Marian Mahler, guests can silk-screen their own T-shirts and bags while DJ Jahsonic spins. For a little live music, head out to the museum’s garden, where the Pete Muldoon Quartet will play jazz as guests imbibe and nosh—no word on whether Mid-Century faves like deviled eggs or pigs in a blanket will be the appetizers of choice. Just make sure to use a napkin: You don’t want a dirty pencil skirt or skinny tie when you enter the best Mid-Century dressed contest. But even if you do avoid stains, you’ll need some serious panache to rock a suit like Don Draper.
PM @ THE TM TAKES PLACE AT 6 P.M. AT THE TEXTILE MUSEUM, 2320 S ST. NW. $10 (INCLUDES DRINK TICKET). (202) 667-0441.
