Scientific findings are inspired by explorations of the universe’s creation and evolution. They have led mankind to space and to death. And for Liz Lerman, these findings are the subject of her latest production, The Matter of Origins, as well as the discussion panel, “How Do We Know What We Know?”—in which the choreographer considers the intersection of art and science with two physicists and an astronomer. The other participants—Lawrence Krauss of Arizona State University, William Dorland of the University of Maryland, and David DeVorkin of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum—have dedicated their lives to studying the laws of the universe. And if you fear the metaphysical jargon will go over your head, you can trust moderator Kojo Nnamdi to bring it down to earth.
