Police guitarist Andy Summers will be watching you. But he’s not doing it in a creepy, stalker sort of a way. Summers has a side-career as a photographer, so he just wants to take your picture. Actually, his recent book is called Desirer Walks the Streets, which sounds like it dances along the fine line between pathetic voyeur and poetic wanderer. Summers’ third collection of photography features 30 years of unstaged and emotionally raw black and white images. Taken mostly at night and shot in all corners of the world, his haunting works capture moments of dark surrealism, fleeting intimacy, and unfinished drama.

ANDY SUMMERS SPEAKS AT 7:30 P.M. AT THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MUSEUM, 1145 17TH ST. NW. $18-$20. (202) 857-7588.
