To be all-inclusive in the holiday season, you can’t send out cards that hype the joys of one particular December celebration. These days, you have to rely on missives that use inoffensive symbols and vague language to ensure no one feels left out. Though the Rock & Roll Hotel risks alienating celebrators of Hanukkah and Kwanzaa by calling its annual holiday concert the “Modern Times Christmas Show,” the line-up proves how all-inclusive the H Street NE venue really is. With a diverse roster of more than 14 performers from around the District—including Echo Armada, Star FK Radium, Stroma, and Cross Kentucky, to name a few—this show is the musical equivalent of a card with a glittering star on the front and “May your holidays shine bright” written on the inside. Which means that everyone should be able to come down, rock out, and feel the nondenominational love.
THE “MODERN TIMES CHRISTMAS SHOW” TAKES PLACE AT 7:30 P.M. AT THE ROCK & ROLL HOTEL, 1353 H ST. NE. $10. (202) 388-7625.
