Who knew Black Sabbath’s heavy-metal classic “War Pigs” plus Ludacris’ “Bitch, Get Out the Way” would make for a fist-pumping party anthem? Hip-hop collage artist Girl Talk, that’s who. In his hands, the most unlikely mashups—Lady Gaga and Aphex Twin; Nine Inch Nails and Peter Gabriel—sound like they were always meant to be together, and written with the same goal in mind: to make you shake your ass. Girl Talk’s live shows are even more kinetic than his records; using only a couple of laptops and the occasional giant balloon, the Pittsburgh DJ reliably whips his audiences into orgiastic frenzies.

GIRL TALK PERFORMS WITH PENGUIN PRISON AT 7 P.M. (SAME TIME WEDNESDAY) AT THE 9:30 CLUB, 815 V ST. NW. $25; BOTH NIGHTS SOLD OUT. (202) 265-0930.
