Museum Walk Weekend is held annually on the first full weekend in June. On Saturday and Sunday, June 4-5, celebrate the art, history and culture of one of Washington, DC’s historic neighborhoods and visit the ten museums of the Dupont-Kalorama Museum Consortium, each featuring free admission and special activities for all ages and interests. Visit in any order you choose – green your route by hitting the pavement and taking a walking tour or riding the free shuttle between sites!

RSVP on our Facebook event page.

This year the Museum Walk is going green! We’re challenging you to explore the natural and social changes of our city as it incorporates green thinking into everyday activities. Creatively show us your perception of “green”, or environmentally-conscious art and artistically incorporate a green theme into your photo entries. Email you photo entries from the walk to contests@washingtoncitypaper.com. Entries must be received by Friday, June 10 at 5pm.

Prize pack includes:
– Phillips Dual/Family membership

Since 1983 Walk Weekend, sponsored by the Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium (DKMC), has drawn thousands to “off the Mall” museums in Dupont Circle and Kalorama for a variety of free activities for all ages, including special museum exhibitions, live music, food, demonstrations such as quilt making and sheep shearing (weather permitting), and walking and biking tours. Please note that not all museums will be open both days. Event held rain or shine.

DKMC works with volunteers at the sites and in the neighborhood to produce Walk Weekend. For more information on volunteering contact Missy Groppel by email at MissyGroppel@dumbartonhouse.org or phone: 202-337-2288 x230.
