Edmond Rostand’s classic play Cyrano de Bergerac—which you may be familiar with from the ‘80s movie adaptation Roxanne, starring Steve Martin—is newly seen, heard, and felt, from the streets of 17th-century Paris to the battlefield, in Michael Hollinger’s world premiere translation. Cyrano secretly adores Roxane but fears she could never share the sentiment because of his legendary nose. Instead, he uses his gift for wit and wordplay to help his tongue-tied friend Christian woo her. Will she be won by Christian’s appearance or Cyrano’s soul? Directed by Halen Hayes Award winner Aaron Posner.
