This one will be a sausage fest—literally. No ladies are allowed at “Man Meats Grill,” an interactive grilling seminar that’s part of Sixth & I’s “Men’s Room” programming for dudes in their 20s and 30s. With the exception of District butcher Pam Ginsberg, testosterone will take over the parking lot across the street from the synagogue this evening. “The point of this is just for young men in the area to meet and socialize,” says Director of Live Entertainment Aaron Weintraub. Attendees will get a chance to fire up grills—one cooker for every two to four guys—and prepare ribeye steaks, hamburgers, and hot dogs with help from Ginsberg and Wagshal’s Market owner Brian Fuchs (all meat will be kosher and cooked on new grills). Men curious about which cuts of meat to buy and how to select a marinade won’t be disappointed—Ginsberg and Fuchs aim to teach these guys how to grill like pros. But even if they don’t end up with the finest charred beef in town, ticketholders won’t go home hungry—when the cooking’s done, everyone gets to chow down on the finished product. (Significant others take note: They might come home with a goody bag, too.)
