Who was Jim Graham married to?
While attending law school at Michigan State University in the late 1960s, Graham married Patty Wilson, according to a 1992 Washington Post profile of Graham. Wilson, a theater major, was known as “Peppermint Patty” because of her job at an ice cream shop. “We were perfect together,” Graham told the paper. “We were a great couple. Patty was bright, she was pretty, she was petite. We even looked good together.”
Graham, who is gay, drank heavily during his marriage and had clandestine affairs with men, the Post reported. After he and Wilson divorced, he told her that he’d had sex with a man the night before his wedding, the paper reported. “Patty and I were a good match,” says Graham. “The problem is I was never a bisexual. I found sex with her, with any woman, obligatory. To say it was a chore is such a harsh word. She was entitled to a robust sexual relationship.”
