Man Man and Murder by Death like to get weird with rock music. Man Man’s principal songwriter, Honus Honus, sings like a more playful Tom Waits, and his band performs with everything from toy noisemakers to Chinese funeral horns. The more cinematic and macabre Murder by Death, meanwhile, should soundtrack more horror films. For its latest record, Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon, the group invited Okkervil River’s Scott Brackett to join as a multi-instrumentalist; now the band is taking full advantage of its new contributor and the bigger sound he brings. 8 p.m. $20.
