There’s a better way to spend April 20 than getting baked in your living room. CLCTVE Media Group is planning just the thing to get you off the couch: the Goodtime$ 4/20 festival. Hosted by the aptly named model/designer/performer Stacey Hash (who takes her stage name from Clueless actress Stacey Dash), the musical event features a lineup of ascendent local and national hip-hop acts, including Stalley (shown), Smoke DZA, Diamond District, Kingpen Slim, Phil Da Phuture, Uno Hype, and Fool’s Gold Records signee GrandeMarshall. Jerome Baker III will act as house DJ for the evening. The performers are candid about their relationship with MJ, and many of the selected acts will perform mellow tracks in line with the spirit of 4/20. But Miami rapper and wildcard Gunplay, with his high-energy set, is the main attraction. That unpredictability has endeared him to a new legion of fans over the past year—anyone willing to fight five people alone will attack a microphone with the same ferocity.
The festival begins at 7 p.m. at CLCTVE Studio, 4807 Lawrence St., Hyattsville. $20. goodtimes420.co.
