Sinkane’s 2012 debut album, Mars, was a straight-up party. On it, the Sudanese-American instrumentalist flirted with traditional African grooves and Caribbean rhythms, putting a modern spin on old methods with ambient vocals and lush instrumentation. Sinkane played at least four instruments on every song, making Mars a virtual one-man display of creative prowess. Granted, he won’t be able to play multiple instruments at the same time on stage, but I’m hoping he tries.
