Perhaps the most ambitious project that nightlife denizens Brightest Young Things have ever attempted was 2009’s Bentzen Ball, a four-day comedy festival. Although they famously maxed out an American Express black card paying for the event, they also brought comedy behemoths Sarah Silverman and Patton Oswalt into the District and gave laughter-lovers their first taste of Nick Offerman before Ron Swanson became a household name. After four years and a cancer scare for curator Tig Notaro, the Bentzen Ball is finally making its return. Joining Notaro will be stoned interrupter Doug Benson, Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum Rachel Dratch, This American Life host Ira Glass, Daily Show correspondent Wyatt Cenac, and a slew of other hilarious people that will make your sides hurt.
