Success! You're on the list.

If D.C. is divided along color lines, what happens when you close your eyes? No need to wade blindly into oncoming traffic to find out; on Nov. 19, settle into the Goethe-Institut’s plush auditorium, close your eyes, and let your ears do the work. Marika Partridge of Hear Now created a 20-minute D.C. soundscape for the BBC in March, which she’ll present and discuss, accompanied by another soundscape from the D.C. Listening Lounge. Partridge’s is an exploration of the many faces of D.C., just as vivid without visuals; D.C. Listening Lounge’s piece takes the audience from hidden spots like the Dupont Underground to well-known but not necessarily well-listened-to spaces like the National Mall.
