Whether he’s performing with a fan on his back or body-slamming people for misbehaving at his shows, Queens rapper Action Bronson still manages to deliver his lyrics with pinpoint accuracy. Both Bronson mixtapes Blue Chips and Blue Chips 2 borrow their names from the 1994 film starring Shaq, Penny Hardaway, and Nick Nolte, a sign of his proclivity for pop-culture nuggets. That, along with his talents on the mic, are what endear him to fans. But if you catch his energetic and funny live show at Howard Theatre tonight, don’t invite yourself on stage—there’s a good chance he’ll throw you back into the crowd. Action Bronson performs with Party Supplies at 8 p.m. at the Howard Theatre, 620 T St. NW. $25–$30. (202) 803-2899. thehowardtheatre.com.
