There’s still time to nominate local icons for Best of D.C.

The website and events crew Brightest Young Things has spent the better part of a decade planning events for hip Washingtonians. This weekend, they’re also providing the soundtrack. The second rendition of its DC Emerging Artist Super Sampler serves as a visual mixtape of sorts, with a heap of BYT’s favorite local musicians performing three of their very best songs. Featured acts include punk band Loud Boyz, Baltimore rapper DDM, indie-pop groups The Walking Sticks and Me & This Army, D.C. electronic duo Pleasure Curses (shown), and a variety of other artists running the gamut from hip-hop to roots reggae. A host of local comics including Jenn Tisdale, Jamel Johnson, Adam Friedland, and Brandon Wetherbee will provide humorous interludes between sets. You’ll be hit with a blitz of talent that comes recommended so you won’t have to dig for it on your own, all for a Jackson or less. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Howard Theatre, 620 T St. NW. $18–$20. (202) 803-2899. thehowardtheatre.com.
