An EDM party in a graffiti-covered church is a soul-cleansing, if uncommon, experience. When the historic Friendship Baptist Church was transformed from a vacant shell to the vibrant Blind Whino multipurpose space last year, the Southwest venue blossomed into a destination for colorful celebrations, and this weekend, it’s playing host to an underground party bursting with art and noise: Trapitol Hill. But the eclectic venue is only part of what makes this celebration worth checking out. Revelers can expect DJ sets by ETC(!) ETC(!) (pictured), High Klassified, RaceCarBed, Kidd Marvel, Choppy Oppy, and Bassdread, plus food, installations from Art Whino, and live art from local street artists. Outside, a brand new coat of spray paint will be slapped onto the One Love Massive bus. If you want to celebrate Memorial Day away from the National Mall and don’t mind aerosols, this party is for you. The performance begins at 7 p.m. at Blind Whino, 734 First St. SW. $20–$60. blindwhino.com.
