The Memorial Day Weekend Biker Festival sounds like it would chiefly draw chopper aficionados. But its main offering, live music, has appeal that can satisfy Zipcar users and hog riders alike. This two-day festival, located south of National Harbor in Charles County, Md., highlights ’90s R&B and go-go on Saturday night, with Zapp and EU headlining. On Sunday night, the focus shifts to southern soul and blues, featuring performers Mel Waiters and Ms. Jody. Fans of Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley may enjoy the church-rooted vocals of Waiters and Ms. Jody, although the latter put a different spin on traditional soul with synthesizer rhythms and slightly raunchy lyrics. Waiters reveals his soulful rasp in his Friday night tale “Got My Whiskey,” while Ms. Jody adds a bouncy touch with her line dance, “Ms. Jody’s Thang.” Amid the Harleys, there should be room for a few rounds of the energetic boogie. The performances begin at 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at American Legion Post 170, 4345 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Md. $33. (301) 792-4004. cds-entertainment.com.
