City Paper is not for tourists
Imagine, for a moment, if you took a Prince record—that distinctive mix of funk, lust, and sultry self-confidence—slipped it a Quaalude, and stretched its sound across the rack of a lounge-ready house beat. Can you hear it? That’s the sound of Wolf + Lamb. Both a DJ duo and the founders of a self-titled record label, Wolf + Lamb are coming to U Street Music Hall, and they’re bringing along like-minded wingman Nick Monaco to perform the same night. Together, the group promises a fitting farewell to summer—the kind of music that’s made for an easy sway on one last humid night. Sept. 19 at U Street Music Hall. $10.
