Consider this a public service announcement: Benjamin Booker’s upcoming visit to D.C. may just be the last time that anyone in the District is going to get to see this guy for just $15 at a small venue. This year alone, he’s commanded a rapt audience at the Newport Folk Festival and toured with Jack White—hell, he even played a song on Letterman. Born in Virginia Beach and based in New Orleans, Booker brings to the stage a pairing of punk and blues, threaded together with the occasional sing-along hook. He’s immensely talented, and it seems only a (short) matter of time before he’s also immensely popular. Time’s running out for the kind of clerical error that resulted in this ticket price. Oct. 20 at U Street Music Hall. $15.
