There’s a lot of sexy music out there. Whether we’re talking Marvin Gaye, Al Green, or Fiona Apple, it’s easy to pick out that certain instrumentation and vocal inflection that’s meant to get people in the mood. But for all those sultry tunes, there’s little music that actually sounds like sex. “Let’s Get It On,” for one, is all about the build-up. College, the brainchild of French musician David Grellier, actually sounds like the act itself. There are no words, the tempo’s not too fast, and the ’80s-style synths are pulsing. Even if you don’t know every tune, these shows will get you sweaty in the best possible way. College rose to fame after Grellier’s music was featured prominently in the 2012 film Drive, and by the time he’s done with DC9, it probably won’t matter that no one there looks like Ryan Gosling. College performs with Furniteur at 9 p.m. at DC9, 1940 9th St. NW. $15. (202) 483-5000. dcnine.com.
