Asha Bhosle’s high-pitched soprano has been heard on more than 11,000 songs, most of them recorded for and lip synched by Bollywood actresses, since her career began seven decades ago. Now 82, Bhosle’s success is due to more than just hitting the top notes of scales in those genres.
