Some of D.C.’s well known chefs are cooking for a “cause” tonight. That “cause” is Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and tickets (for the lowest price tier of $250) are sold out.

The “Chefs for Hillary” tasting reception will feature food from Del Campo’s Victor Albisu, Restaurant Eve’s Cathal Armstrong, Centrolina’s Amy Brandwein, Hank’s Oyster Bar’s Jamie Leeds, and The Restaurant at Patowmack Farms’ Tarver King, among others. They’ll be joined by keynote speaker Senator Cory Booker

By agreeing to cook at the event, the chefs are signaling which side of the aisle they stand on. Even if they signed on for reasons other than to pledge allegiance to a party, it still sends a message and patrons are listening.

Hank’s Oyster Bar tweeted their excitement about tonight’s festivities. “We can’t wait to be at #ChefsForHillary tonight!” After sending a bat signal retweet that read, “Attention DC Republicans,” John Goodwin authored tweet of his own. With parallel structure no less!

“Can’t wait to never come to any of your restaurants again.”
