Downtown restaurant Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar has decided to tip its hat to Fidel Castro, who passed away on Friday, by offering one complimentary Cuba Libre cocktail to customers who dine bewteen now and Castro’s funeral on Dec. 4.

The simple cocktail, which they’re calling “honorary,” contains Don Q Añejo rum, Coke, and lime, and is tied to various points in history, including the Spanish-American War and the Prohibition era in the United States.

In addition to the complimentary Cuba Libre, the restaurant is expanding its happy hour to 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 4, when they’ll air continuing coverage of Castro’s life and funeral on televisions.

Don’t worry though. According to the press release, “the restaurant encourages guests to engage in political discussion and discourse in recognition of Fidel Castro’s death.”

The restaurant recently tapped Cuban-born Angel Roque to serve as its new executive chef.
